Bournemouth University provide one of Europe’s leading courses in product and packaging design.
Under programme leader Theo Roe, the course attracts students from all over the world. Many of the students move on to become product and packaging designers. The course is run over 3 or 4 years with one year for internship in various industries.
Bell Packaging were invited to meet the students and assess their 2nd year project work. Managing Director Peter Lennie was delighted at the standard of work being produced.
“During my visit I met with 9 students and reviewed their project which was titled ‘Packaging Design for new LED Bulb’. I was extremely impressed with the standard of work. The students had researched current packaging and put forward innovative and exciting new ideas. I wish all the students’ success with their course and have no doubt that the future of packaging design in the UK is in safe hands”.
Following the review, Lennie went on to present to 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students a summary on how to make boxes. Starting from raw material, a live demonstration was made showing how board is made, printed, converted and delivered to the packer in its final box format.
